Rev. Michael Anthony Howard
Michael Howard is a pastor, teacher, and writer who believes that faith is something we live together—shaped by place, relationships, and the stories we carry. His work is rooted in a simple conviction: transformation happens when we listen deeply, honor one another’s gifts, and commit ourselves to the well-being of the places we inhabit.
At the center of Michael’s work is a conviction that the Gospel is not only about what we believe, but about how our shared faith shapes the places we call home.
Michael’s ministry has taken him into congregations and communities navigating change, seeking healing, and discerning how faith can be practiced with integrity in the world as it is. He is especially drawn to places that care about their history and their future—communities willing to ask not only what we believe, but how we live together.
At heart, Michael is a teaching pastor and a listener—someone who helps people name what they care about, discover their gifts, and connect their faith to everyday life. He sees the church not as a place with all the answers, but as a community where questions are welcomed, truth is sought together, and hope is practiced through action.
Michael is also a father to his daughter, Joey, who continually teaches him how to pay attention—to the natural world, to curiosity, and to the importance of presence. As a family, they value rootedness, hospitality, and spending time outdoors, and those values quietly shape the way Michael approaches ministry and community life.
Faithful communities are formed not overnight, but through shared commitment, honest conversation, and care for one another and for the places we call home.
We don’t need to have all the answers, just the courage to ask better questions—and the love to live those questions together.
